Becoming a Scrum Alliance CAF Trainer

Certified Agile Facilitator (CAF)  Trainer

In order to deliver CAF courses, approved trainers must possess an elevated level of knowledge and experience in the practice of scaling. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to convey their expertise through the validation and assessment of their educational content. 

Some key elements to achieve include: 

  • Candidates must hold, and visible on their profile, an active CSP-SM, CSP-PO, and/or CSP-D
  • A CAF Trainer candidate must hold an active CAF  badge
  • A CAF Trainer candidate must validate at least 12 months, within the last 60 months of scaling experience, including key learnings and impacts to your trainings.  
    Experience may include: directly engaging in affecting change in an agile organization or with agile teams, where your first-hand experience has shaped the evolution of your scaling mindset and/or approach(es). 
  • A CAF Trainer candidate must have instructed or co-instructed at least eight (8) scaling courses within the last 60 months. These courses may be certified or uncertified, and at least one of these courses must be co-instructed with a CST who is approved to teach CAF program (like Evelyn Tian).
  • Must provide evidence of at least 2 instances of active community engagement in the agile/scrum community for at least 60 months prior to application.
  • A CAF Trainer candidate must successfully complete a Training Skills Assessment (TSA) after all course materials are approved

Prepare the materials and for the assessment (TSA - trainer skill assessment)

#5 Provide training through us

You can work with us to offer scaling programs either virtually or in-person
